Suspect arrested, charged in Milledgeville shooting

A suspect in a shooting at the intersection of Prichard Street and North Elbert Street in Milledgeville was arrested Monday.

According to a news release from the Milledgeville Police Department, Terrance Simmons and four other men were standing in front of a home on North Elbert Street in the Graham Homes area, known as Boddie Projects wearing colors associated with the Boddie Project Bloods gang.

Simmons refused to be patted down after the other four were searched. An officer saw a firearm sticking out of Simmon's shirt. He took the firearm, grabbed Simmons and arrested him.

Simmons is being charged with willful obstruction of law enforcement, use of firearm by a convicted felon, criminal street gang activity and theft by receiving stolen property.

The release also states Simmons has no current connection to other recent shootings.
