GDOT Seeks Public Comment at Milledgeville Meeting

The Georgia Department of Transportation wants your feedback on a statewide improvement program for projects between 2014-2017 in non-urban areas.

According to a release, projects include new construction, interstate highway improvements, state routes and bridges. Other projects may involve bicycle, pedestrian and public transit improvements.

GDOT representatives plan to hold a meeting at the Milledgeville Mall on Monday, October 21 from 5-7 p.m.

Other meetings will be held at

  • South Georgia Technical College in Americus on October 28, 5-7 p.m.
  • LaGrange Mall in LaGrange on November 4, 5-7 p.m.
  • Carrollton Cultural Arts in Carrollton on November 7, 5-7 p.m.

GDOT Focuses on Local Motorists for Work Zone Safety Week

 

(WXIA) -- Work Zone Safety Week is underway, and Georgia's Department of Transportation, the Governor's Office of Highway Safety and the Federal Highway Administration are emphasizing the need for Georgia motorists to use caution when travelling on all roads throughout the state.

During Work Zone Safety Week, highway departments, law enforcement and private contractors are reminding drivers that dangers can come from failure to be careful when behind the wheel, especially in work zones where heavy equipment is often used close to travel lanes.
