National Running Day is today, June 1!

A group run is listed for the Macon Trails from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m.

Here are 10 Ways to Celebrate National Running Day. And no, running is not listed 10 times. :)

 

 

Junior Police Academy Registration

Milledgeville Junior Police Academy will have its 2011 summer police academy registration June 4 at 11 a.m.

Registration is set to take place at the police substation in the Milledgeville Mall.

Participants have to be present for registration and must be between ages 8 and 15.

The enrollment fee is $50 and is due at registration.

Space is limited.

The summer police academy begins July 1 and ends July 28.

Pro Wrestling Tonight

GIWA Pro Wrestling is tonight at the Milledgeville National Guard Armory.

Bell time is 7:30 p.m.

Old Capital Triathlon

 

The Old Capital Triathlon will be a sprint triathlon, which means it is shorter and therefore attainable for beginners. 

The race, to be held on Sunday, May 29th, will begin at 7:00 AM with a 500 yard swim along the cove by Legacy on Sinclair, then the athletes will jump on their bikes for a 15 mile jaunt to downtown Milledgeville and back to the Legacy where they will put on their running shoes for a 5K (3.1 mile) run around the country club area, ending at the Milledgeville Country Club where an awards ceremony will be held at 10:30 AM. 

MG Boylan will be the official starter of the race and Baldwin County Commissioner Bubba Williams will present the awards. 

The community is invited to come out on Sunday and watch the transitions from water to bike to road and also stay for the awards ceremony at 10:30AM.

CWO Wrestling Fan Appreciation Event

 

Championship Wrestling Overload brings a special free fan appreciation event to Bonner Park in Milledgeville Georgia.

Belltime is 4p.m. Saturday, April 30 and fans are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs & picnics.

Five matches are scheduled. 

In the main event you will see CWO World Champion Damien defend against Tommy Lee w/ KSL. 

In the semi main event you will see a Texas Bullrope Match when the controversial loud-mouth "Ticking Time Bomb" Chris Nelms faces off with The Georgia Cowboy.

Plus: Kyle Hendrix takes on J-Smooth.. Shannon Dumass meets 1/2 CWO Tag Team Champions: Neal McGuiness.

Milledgeville's Steve Stiles will also be making an appearance!
