What to do with Your Old Clunker of a Computer

If your first computer ever, or cell phone for that matter, is just collecting dust in the attic, consider this local option.

Through Digital Bridges' partnership with the Baldwin County Environmental Compliance Office, the Knight Community Innovation Center is a year-round collection point for old and obsolete computers and consumer electronics.

License Plate Revote Opens Monday

 

ATLANTA (AP) -- The public is again invited to weigh in on Georgia's new license plate design. 

Online voting will reopen at 3 p.m. Monday.

Gov. Nathan Deal had planned to announce the winner of an earlier design contest last Friday, but the state scrapped its plans over public confusion on whether the motto "In God We Trust" would be on the plate.

Until last year, I had thought facebook was a tool for just teenagers and young adults.  They grew up with technology that we (40’s-ish) cannot comprehend.  Before I got the “aha” about Facebook, I thought that it was for people who wanted to vent about their day.  To our teens it’s so much more than that- It’s about identity (their own and everyone else’s).  Their Facebook page is an extension of their personalities, with games, pictures (and lots of them), status, friends, a place to vent, likes and dislikes. 

 What we (40’s-ish) do not understand is how to protect them.  They have so much information out there on the net that it could come back to haunt them one day.  So I began to look into this and this is what I found:

Georgia License Plate Winner to be Named

Three finalists have been named in the license plate design contest.

Governor Nathan Deal, Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle and State Revenue Commissioner Douglas MacGinnitie announce the winner Friday, July 15.

Baldwin Ranks 80 in Health Study

Out of 156 counties in Georgia, Baldwin County ranks 80, according to a national health study.

Various factors such as mortality, health behaviors, clinical care, social and economic factors, and physical environment go into the ranking.
