Baldwin Shooting Victim Identified | News
Baldwin County investigators believe they have identified a man found shot to death this morning by the side of a road.
Capt. Brad King of the sheriff's department says they learned the man's identity through fingerprints, but they are not releasing the name until his family is notified.
King says the victim is a Newton County man, and investigators are in that county today to learn more.
He said he also believes the victim was killed somewhere else and dumped at the scene, due to a lack of evidence found there.
The man was found this morning on Treanor Drive, a dead-end road between Kings Road and Highway 22, east of Milledgeville. He said the man was pronounced dead around 8:40 a.m.
The man died from two gunshot wounds to the chest, Gonzalez said. He said the victim was a black male apparently in his late 30s.
The sheriff's department could not release any further information at this time.
