Two shootings in Milledgeville on Monday night

Two shootings in Milledgeville happened on Monday night according to a press release from the Milledgeville Police Department.

A man was treated for a gunshot wound on his hand Monday night. That's after Milledgeville Police responded to shots being fired near Wray Homes.

A press release from the Police Department says witnesses told police a male on foot fired at a brown Lincoln at the corner of Thomas Street and West Thomas Court. They told police the car and the shooter then left the area.

Later, the brown Lincoln was stopped by a Georgia College and State University police officer. One of the people in that car had been dropped off at Oconee Regional Medical Center where he was treated for the gunshot wound on his hand.

Another shooting was reported in Baldwin County. The release says police responded to gunfire near North Columbia Street and West MLK Jr. Boulevard. A home in that area was damaged but the shell casings and damage wasn't found until Tuesday morning.

The release says evidence is being processed and detectives are developing more suspects.

Chief Dray Swicord with the Milledgeville Police Department says they're still looking for people to come forward with information on the shootings. "The investigation into these shootings is ongoing and a priority for our department. We are still looking for someone from the community to step forward and help us put an end to this senseless violence," said Swicord.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 478-742-2330 or the Milledgeville Police Department Tip Line at 478-414-4413.
