Milledgeville investigating new drive-by shooting
News

Milledgeville police are investigating their 15th drive-by shooting in a month and a half.

This one happened just before midnight Sunday night at a home at 1030 W. Charlton St.

Officers found several 9-mm casings in the road in front of the home, found several spots where bullets had damaged the front of the house and one window was broken. According to an incident report, one bullet apparently stuck a Volvo car in the driveway, ricocheted and struck the house.

The woman told officers she was alone when the shooting happened. She said a son who lived with her was not home.

No one was injured.

Police have not said whether they believe this case is related to the string of drive-by shootings that began in mid-July. They said they believe those previous shootings are gang-related.
