Whether your kids have already started school or if you still have several weeks left to your summer, it’s never too late or too early to begin to set your stellar student up for success this school year.

When you child comes home from school, does she know where her backpack and lunch box live?  These items should have a regular landing zone.  It could be a hook next to the child’s desk in her room or in a cubby by the entry door.  Having a consistent place to put these items will make them easier to find and cause fewer headaches during that mad dash out the door in the morning.

Tuesday's Organizing Tip: Simplify Social Media

Simplify your social media! How do you decide who to follow on Facebook or Twitter?

Before you follow or accept that friend request, check out the posts that the business/person/group has made. Are they informative, helpful, or entertaining? If not, don't follow them or go back and unfollow them. Their posts will just be visual clutter on your newsfeed or Twitter feed.

Farmers Market to Feature Live Entertainment

Farmers Market to Feature Live Entertainment

Live entertainment and market incentives were just a couple of things the Milledgeville Marketplace Farmers’ Market Committee wanted to provide during the 2013 Farmers’ Market season. During each month the committee had planned to have at least one activity for market goers and vendors to enjoy while at the market.

The market opened April 2nd with 10 vendors and more than 400 people visiting the market. Live entertainment was provided by the Blue Grass Strangers to kick things off for the grand opening. Since opening day, the market had the band Analog Reunion preform as the April entertainment.  It is the middle of May so it is now time to bring back more entertainment for the vendors and customers to enjoy.

Good Life Organizing: Visual Clutter and Shopping

Good Life Organizing: Visual Clutter and Shopping

Recently I took my daughter to one of our favorite department stores for a little summer clothes shopping. While she browsed in the juniors department, I made my way to the ladies section. What I saw stopped me in my tracks - shelf after shelf of clothes strewn about and in a big jumbled mess. Not a pretty sight. It was worse than I have seen after a Black Friday sale.

Pollen Count 'High' in the Macon Area

Pollen Count 'High' in the Macon Area

Some mixed news for allergy sufferers:

While the tree pollen count is still high at 1420, that's down from last Wednesday's 3,600 count, according to Dr. Plaxico's Allergy and Asthma Clinic in Macon.

Weeds and grass pollen count is now in the moderate range. That count is up from last week when the weed pollen was absent and the grass count was observed as low.
