Lane closure planned for Baldwin County this week

Maintenance crews will need to close a lane for road repairs in Baldwin County this week.

That happens along State Route 29 between mile markers 3 and 10, according to a release.

Crews also plan to mow along State Route 22, between mile posts 12 and 23.

Maintenance is planned between 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

As Kayla explores the different ways to involve Andalusia with social media, we could not help but wonder what Flannery would have thought of all our endeavors.  We are not the first to follow this line of purely speculative inquiry – Paige Henson of The Telegraph, and Mark Jurgensen, Andalusia’s former Visitor Services Manager and intrepid blogger, both delved into the subject in November, 2013 (http://andalusiafarm.blogspot.com/2013/11/flannery.html).

Georgia Chamber to host regional lunch in Baldwin County

The Georgia Chamber hosts a regional lunch in Milledgeville Wednesday.

According to a release, more than 80 members and investors are expected to attend.

Lunch is at noon at Georgia College.

Chamber CEO Chris CLark will discuss key business legislation in the 2014 session.

Milledgeville Main Street has been named the top Main Street City in America.

The organization won the Great American Main Street Award.

First student in university history graduates with physics, chemistry and math degrees

On Saturday, May 10 Matthew Hilliard was the first in Georgia College history to graduate with three degrees in physics, chemistry and math. Triple majors are rare at the university, but degrees in these three areas of study together have never been achieved before.
