The Oconee River Greenway Foundation will host the 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day at the Oconee River Greenway Park and Riverwalk from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM. The day will begin with the Greenway Farmers Market as well as Arts and Crafts Booths. Our favorite vendors: Babe + Sage Farm, Sparta Imperial Mushrooms, Three Centuries Farm, Salamander Springs Farm, and many more will be back offering the best locally- and sustainably-grown food in town, including: great sustainably-grown produce and mushrooms; pasture-raised beef, pork, lamb, goat, chicken, and eggs; hormone-free and antibiotic-free dairy products; hearth-baked artisan breads and other baked goods; and handcrafted jams, jellies, and preserves. Lavender and Lace, Sharin’ my Stitches, as well as TheFolksArt are among the Arts and Crafts vendors that are participating.
Beginning at 10 AM, there will be a number of fun doings for adults and children: family yoga by Xan Nichols, Elite Gymnastics will host several activities, Mr. Galloway’s petting zoo, and of course – face painting by Maria Fontenot; just to name a few.
Jim Chapman and Charlie Adams will begin their live performance of today’s light rock favorites at 11 AM. There will be plenty of room for dancing and frolicking! In addition, the Oconee River Greenway Foundation is grilling hot dogs and hamburgers and serving Chik-fil-A iced tea or lemonade for small fee with all proceeds going toward helping the Oconee River Greenway Park and Riverwalk become an essential part of our community.
All the while, we will be treated to The Voice, Walter Reynolds, as he guides us through the day’s events. Join us early for the farmers’ market and stay to celebrate a family friendly St. Patrick’s with old and new friends.
