Who Will Become the 2012 Milledgeville Idol? | Community Spirit

The battle of the best voice in Milledgeville takes center stage this month as 10 local vocalists compete for a $1,000 cash
 prize.

The fifth annual Milledgeville Idol singing competition starts at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, in Russell Auditorium.

“This year’s group has been rehearsing since June and really bonded,” said Danielle Fields, show producer and Georgia College alumna, ’04. “These contestants are spunky and keep me laughing.”

The 2012 contestants include Margaret Bedard, Allyse Brantley, Matt Brantley, Tommy Clark, Amy McDade, Shannon McNeal, Dianne Milam, Rasheda Mitchell, Greta Pritchett and Sonya Williams.

The contestants will perform songs from popular artists such as Adele, Pat Benatar and Lady Gaga, along with musical selections as a group.

A live house band of Milledgeville residents will provide additional entertainment during the show hosted by Z97.7 disc jockey Walter Reynolds.

“We’re featuring must-see performances that the entire community will enjoy,” Fields said. “Audience members will recognize a lot of the songs and fall in love with these talented singers.”

General admission: $10; ages 12 and under and students will Georgia College ID: $8.
