Celebrate the holidays at the Old Governor's Mansion | Community Spirit
The Old Governor’s Mansion, adorned with florals and bows, has become a holiday tradition in Milledgeville.
“This year’s theme is ‘Holiday Traditions,’ and it represents not only the tradition here at the mansion for holiday tours, but it also reflects back to the way Christmas was celebrated here during the 1850s,” said Matt Davis, director of the mansion.
The holiday celebration at the mansion runs Nov. 23 through 27 and Dec. 3 through 22.
Special candlelight tours will take place on Dec. 7, 14 and 19 at 6 and 7 p.m.
“Our guest musical performances during our candlelight tours will be Sweet Georgia Sound, the Milledgeville Singers Guild and the First Baptist Church Handbell Choir,” said Davis. “ We will also have a special performance on Dec. 11 from 1 to 3:15 p.m. from the Max Noah Singers.”
The Old Governor’s Mansion is open from Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sundays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $10 for adults, $7 for senior citizens, $2 for students and children under 6 and all GC faculty, staff and students are free.
