First Friday: "Sounds of Spring" in Milledgeville | Arts & Culture
It’s all about the music this First Friday! Grab a bite to eat, shop, listen to live entertainment and enjoy the ‘Sounds of Spring’ this Friday April 5th from 6-9pm.
Starting off the night will be Hott with Hairy Leggs playing from 6-7pm outside of Capital City and beginning at 7:30 Rapanui will finish up the evening. Be sure to stop by and hear a taste of what you can expect to see later in the night during ‘Sounds of the South’.
This is the second annual Sounds of the South concert crawl to be happening in conjunction with First Friday. The event will begin at 10pm with proceeds going to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network and downtown Milledgeville. Various bands will perform in the downtown bars and restaurants. Wristbands can be purchased for $7 the night of the event to enjoy drink specials for the whole night. For more information regarding Sounds of the South, please send a message to Sounds of the South’s Facebook page.
The ORMC Kids corners will be making lots of noise as they create music shakers to help the kiddos become part of the live entertainment happening around town.
Digital Bridges will be displaying work created during the February ‘Stories through Art’ workshops. There will also be storytelling and original poetry readings.
Z97.7 will kick off their annual Outdoor Recreation Expo earlier in the day. There will be a number of boats and RV’s to look at. On Saturday, the Old Capital Car Club will host at ‘Show and Shine’ in conjunction with the boat show. The event will be held downtown on South Jefferson Street and in the Mary Vinson Library parking lot.
