First Friday: "Fall in Love with the 80s" | Arts & Culture
Downtown Milledgeville will step back in time on Feb. 1 for the ‘Fall in Love with the ’80s’ First Friday event from 6 to 9 p.m.
“We are flashing back to the ‘80s for this First Friday and expect to see tons of neon colors and teased hair,” Milledgeville Main Street Director Carlee Schulte said. “This month is extra special because we are celebrating two years since the event’s inception. I am so thankful for the committee, community and merchants for embracing this event and helping it grow over the past two years.”
Georgia College’s Max Noah Singers will be performing at 7 p.m. on South Wayne Street in front of Chops. The group will perform songs of love that they will be presenting for their Valentine’s Day Rendezvous on Feb. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in Magnolia Ballroom.
A three-category costume contest will be judged in front of Capital City on South Wayne Street at 7:30 p.m. Categories include college, community and kids (17 and under). In the college category first, second and third place winners will collect $100, $75 and $50, respectively, for their favorite charity. The winner in the community and kids categories will be given a gift certificate. Individuals can enter for $5 and groups for $15. Winners will be selected by crowd applause.
This month’s Oconee Regional Medical Center Kids Corner will feature a craft for an upcoming holiday.
