Milledgeville, GA- Milledgeville Main Street hosted a Taste of Milledgeville event during the September First Friday on Friday, September 7th. Taste of Milledgeville offered food samples from 19 different restaurants in Baldwin County, giving Taste attendees a wide variety of samples to choose from.
Taste of Milledgeville kicked off at 6:00pm on Friday night and quickly brought a large crowd to downtown Milledgeville making the Taste of Milledgeville a huge success with more than 3000 tickets sold.
Carlee Schulte, the Main Street Director said, “we’re extremely pleased with the turnout and the enormous amount of support from the community as well as the participating restaurants.’
The First Friday Committee also added a little friendly competition to the Taste of Milledgeville 2012. Taste attendees had the opportunity to vote on their favorite taste, presentation and restaurant of the year. We are excited to announce the winners from this year’s Taste of Milledgeville. The results were extremely close between three restaurants. The Best Taste award for 2012 goes to Velvet Elvis. Velvet Elvis served up mini tacos filled with a choice of Mahi-mahi or Shrimp. They also had tastes of their delicious burgers. The Best Presentation award was received by Aubri Lane’s, who also took home the Restaurant of the year award! Aubri Lane’s had portions of their scrumptious bread pudding that was to die for. Kai Thai received rave reviews and was not far behind Aubri Lanes and Velvet Elvis in all three categories. They were however, the restaurant that satisfied the most taste buds through tastes of their product. Congratulations to Aubri Lane’s, Velvet Elvis and Kai Thai!
Milledgeville Main Street and the First Friday Committee thank each and every restaurant that participated in the Taste of Milledgeville as well as the community for coming out to enjoy and support this event for it could not have been such a success without them.
