2016 Milledgeville ACT for Youth with Mrs. Ruby

Milledgeville Area Community Theatre for Youth (ACT) will begin the 2016 winter sessions on Tuesday, January 12 and meet each Tuesday for eight weeks. Session I will meet from 3:00 to 4:00 pm for ages 6 – 11 years and Session II for ages 11 years and up will meet from 4:00 to 5:30 pm in the Allen’s Market Building, 101 West McIntosh Street, Milledgeville. The winter session of ACT will conclude with a performance for family and friends. Class is limited to 25 students and is open to all youth interested in any aspect of theatre. Registration fee for the eight weeks is $15.00.

 

Milledgeville ACT director Ruby Werts said, “This program focuses on teaching children skills that enable them to be comfortable and confident when in front of others. It also teaches them public speaking and memorization skills.” Werts is a retired elementary school teacher and is active in local theatre, music and choral groups. According to Allied Arts Program Coordinator, Brian Renko, “Ruby has been directing ACT and summer theatre camps for Allied Arts for the past fifteen years. Ruby knows how to make learning new skills fun and enjoyable for everyone.”

Registrations for the winter session of ACT will be accepted through Monday, January 11. Classes begin Tuesday, January 12 in the Allen’s Market Building, 101 W. McIntosh Street.
